Earlier this year, the Kingman High School Class of 2000 gathered for its 10 year reunion. The reunion was held on Aug. 6 and 7, with approximately 60 of the 75 class members participating. On Friday, some of the class members met at CJ’s Sports Bar for a casual get-together and karaoke. More of the class joined the next morning during the family play date at Riverside Park. This was a great time for the classmates to meet and see one another’s children. The afternoon allowed time for a tour of the high school. Many of the class members had not been back to see all of the improvements that were done a few years after graduation.

The reunion concluded on Saturday night, with dinner and dancing at the Kingman Country Club. Dinner was provided by the Fence Post in Harper, and Jarod Thomas was the DJ for the dance. Between eating and dancing, the group gathered for a class picture and a few silly prizes. John Kinsler received the prize for traveling the farthest. He flew in from Alaska! He also won the prize for changing the most. Bryan Patel owned the prize for changing the least. Nathan Krehbiel won a close race for least amount of hair. There was a tie between several people for the “Most Children” award, but of the class members present, Kris Watson and Jennifer (Kaufman) Reed split the prize, with three children in each of their families.

The “Newest Newlywed” prize went to Holly Messenger-Young, who was married earlier in the year, on March 27. A prize was also given to the only two people that ended up marrying within the class: Tracy (Luntsford) Winsor and Ryan Winsor. The prize session was finished by singing “Happy Birthday” to Kara (Oller) Casad, who was celebrating her birthday the same day.

Overall, it was a great turnout and a fun time for the Class of 2000! Donations to the event also helped purchase a brick in the park in memory of Nikki Hern, who was a member of the KHS Class of 2000. Nikki died on Aug. 1, 1997 as the result of injuries sustained in an auto accident.
